Everybody’s got the Right to know!

MANCHESTER, UK – As a veteran of the Manchester Hip Hop scene Coach Jeets has spent much of his time working with the youth in his city and addressing crucial social problems prevalent in low income communities. His body of work reflects his efforts and the song “The Right to Know” embodies his own personal struggles in his work.

The song drops on 22nd May 2020 worldwide!

As a true soldier for the culture, the rapper, producer and community worker is looking more into decentralization of late, inspiring him to come together with DAOrecords to release this track exclusively! We’re excited with his spirit and energy and think this song is the perfect fit for our growing catalog.

In his own words, “I wrote the beat for this track when I was in Malaysia recently, looking out over the Malacca straits, getting inspired… Then I got back to the hood and saw the same old problems.. broken family units, the hunger for acknowledgment at any price everywhere… It hurts me to see folks searching for something without ever really getting any answers.. we’re tired of it you know? … everybody’s got “The Right To Know” But if you truly want to know.. you also gotta be prepared to share your truth.. it’s complex”

The Right to Know – Lyrics

Chorus
Dear Mama you gots to know
It’s difficult for me in this world
Dear Pops, sorry to disappoint
I gotta smoke another joint
Grandaddy, was a war hero
He fought for the country
Sunshine never was a hero
He took it on the son yeah
You ain’t got the right to know
What I do with my time, the world is mine

Verse
No problemo! There you go…(I gotta smoke anther joint)
A selection of soul train, John Coltrane and Mark Twain
Aristo-klaat and marketing executive
Hip Hop for the hypocrites ain’t what you think it is…
Money that you making while you faking all your insta pics…
Don’t take the piss, I’m force fed sex, getting caught in the web
(You ain’t got the right to know)
I’m ready to get my twelve pressed, concrete my legacy
OMG, there you go, LOL, let it be…
First was the word, what a wonderful world
I’m makin’ ill communication with the people of Earth
I get high oh American pie, Smokin’ Berry getting’ Leary on the Cali tonight!
Then back on a mission abolishing poverty
Nobody listen demolish their property, double the jeopardy
(The world is mine, Psycho for the illest)

Chorus
Dear Mama you gots to know
It’s difficult for me in this world
Dear Pops, sorry to disappoint
I gotta smoke another joint
Grandaddy, was a war hero
He fought for the country
Sunshine never was a hero
He took it on the son yeah
You ain’t got the right to know
What I do with my time, the world is mine

Verse 2
Here comes the spoiler,
I block the bog with you head down the toilet
What’s next? Kick on the red bottoms and go for coke sex?
Or you can take on the day with the best of the best
Here’s the last gasp at the return of the mac
So take a deep, deep breathe when I go fully automatic on the fire select
Pow!

Chorus
Dear Mama you gots to know
It’s difficult for me in this world
Dear Pops, sorry to disappoint
I gotta smoke another joint
Grandaddy, was a war hero

He fought for the country
Sunshine never was a hero
He took it on the son yeah
You ain’t got the right to know
What I do with my time, the world is mine
You ain’t got the right to know
Where is starts and where it goes.
